|Project Name:||Innisfree House|
|Purpose of Investment:||To assist in launching a new 10,000 square foot palliative care facility serving approximately 250 more residents annually in Waterloo Region through the donation of furniture.|
1) A new 10,000 square foot residential care facility will be constructed, enabling us to provide excellent hospice palliative care to approximately 250 more residents annually in Waterloo Region.
2) Provide an alternative to institutional and in-home care for individuals facing end-of-life disease and offer support to the families and friends of all we serve. According to the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association, for every 1 person we care for we touch the lives and support at least 5 others, meaning we’ve been able to support approximately 5750 people to date and will support approximately 1250 more people per year moving forward.
3) Become a Centre of Excellence for present staff and future professional caregivers to access resources and education in the field of palliative care. A meeting room and practice suite will be available for training purposes. The space will be available for training our own staff, Conestoga College students and caregivers in our community.
