In 2011 Bridgeway Foundation collaborated for the second year in a row with other foundations and major donors in a unique partnership called Stronger Together. Together, the nine granting partners collectively supported 35 Canadian charitable organizations in awarding grants totaling $945,625.

Just approved grants for Stronger Together 2010 June 15, 2010
Bridgeway’s Grantmaking Committee met in Cambridge, Ontario on Friday, May 14, 2010 to select grants for the first half of 2010. The micromax challenge: Turn $100 into an opportunity February 1, 2010
Microfinance provider Opportunity International Canada is offering 100 “loans” for young Canadian leaders and entrepreneurs aged 18-35 who are interested in becoming “microentrepreneurs” in Canada. Applicants can apply individually or in groups of up to three people by completing an application form (available February 1). Successful applicants will receive a $100 loan to be used as start-up costs for a fundraising venture on behalf of OIC.

Other options than prostitution found for African women November 2, 2009
Mestu, Ayale, and Azeb were three vulnerable women exploited in prostitution on the streets of Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa. Each had experienced the devastating loss of a parent, a life of severe poverty, and various forms of abuse. As a last resort, they turned to prostitution to supplement income for their families. One day, however, they found a better solution through an Ethiopian grassroots organization sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse Canada.

Announcement regarding granting in 2009 March 17, 2009
Bridgeway Foundation wishes to announce that its Board of Directors has made the difficult but necessary decision to suspend all grantmaking for the 2009 fiscal year. Our hope is that funds committed in previous years will be fulfilled in 2010. Additionally, a variety of measures will be taken to trim annual operational costs.
