Carol Petersen

Co-Founder, Board Member & Director Of Philanthropy

Carol has lived in the Cambridge area since 1967. Together with her husband Reg she raised five children who are now all married. They made the decision to create Bridgeway Foundation in 1980 and have witnessed its growth. As a volunteer staff member, she manages the Cambridge and Family Funds.

Carol’s compassionate nature and interest in the well-being of the community led her to take an active volunteer role in several charities, including the Cambridge and North Dumfries Community Foundation, KidsAbility Centre for Child Development, the United Way of Cambridge and North Dumfries, and her local church. She also serves on the Governors Council for microfinance provider Opportunity International Canada.

She says: “I believe all of us have something to give to others, and that it begins with small steps and perseverence. God can give us the courage to take those steps and begin the act of charity with our neighbours.”
